Koransha and Fukagawa in stock
The porcelain of the Koransha Workshop in Arita is without doubt the finest quality Japanese Imari ever produced. The pieces have a highly elaborate execution and are identifiable by their superb gilding. The Koransha Workshop with its "sister workshop" the Fukagawa factory flourished in the latter half of the 19th Century and are still in production today. The Koransha factory is one of the few Imari decorating establishments to fully mark their products. Though it has to be said that some early pieces whilst clearly of Koransha origin remain unmarked but are easily identifiable by the quality of their workmanship and inspired designs.
